Is this the right fit?

More support than a weekly appointment

Our programs are for adults who need more than one hour of therapy a week, but not an overnight stay. We would rather tell you that up front than waste your time.

A good fit if you

  • Are 18 or older and live in Massachusetts
  • Have found that weekly therapy has not been enough
  • Can attend three to six hours a day, several days a week
  • Want group therapy as well as one-on-one sessions
  • Have private or employer insurance

Probably not the right fit if you

  • Want a single one-hour appointment each week, and nothing more
  • Are looking for care for someone under 18
  • Need emergency help or an inpatient bed today (see the note below)
  • Are covered only by MassHealth or Medicaid
Two programs, Monday to Friday

Choose the hours that fit your week

Both programs include individual therapy with your own clinician and group therapy with a small number of other adults. We recommend a level after a short assessment, and the decision is yours.

  • Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

Monday to Friday · 9 AM to 12 PM · typically 6 to 8 weeks

    • Three hours a day of group and individual therapy
    • Afternoons free for work, school or family
    • Your own therapist for individual sessions

A fit when weekly therapy has not been enough, but you can manage the rest of your day.

  • Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)

Monday to Friday · 9 AM to 3 PM · typically 4 to 6 weeks

    • Six hours a day, our most structured level of care
    • Evenings and weekends at home
    • Steps down to IOP as you improve

A fit when symptoms are getting in the way of daily life and you need more than a few hours a day, without an overnight stay.

Common questions

Before you reach out

What is the difference between IOP and PHP?

IOP is three hours a day, Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 12 PM, for about 6 to 8 weeks. PHP is six hours a day, Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 3 PM, for about 4 to 6 weeks. Both include individual therapy with your own clinician and group therapy. PHP is the more structured of the two, and most people step down from PHP to IOP as they improve.

I just want a weekly therapist. Can you help?

Therapy here is delivered through our programs rather than as standalone weekly appointments. If one hour a week is what you want, we are probably not the right fit, and we will tell you that on the first call rather than book you in.

If weekly therapy has not been enough, that is exactly who our programs are for.

Is there a center near me?

We have three Massachusetts centers, in Sharon (374 Old Post Rd, Sharon, MA 02067), Bedford and Quincy. If none of them is close, both programs are also offered by secure video for adults anywhere in Massachusetts.

How quickly can I start?

We return every inquiry the same day, usually within the hour. Openings change week to week, so rather than promise a date here, we will tell you exactly what is open on that first call.

What will it cost?

We accept most major insurance and verify your benefits before you start, so you will know what your program costs before your first day. We are not able to accept Medicaid or MassHealth.

Do I need a referral?

No. You can contact us directly. If your insurance plan requires a referral, we will tell you when we verify your benefits and help you sort it out.

Is what I say confidential?

Yes. Everything you share is confidential and HIPAA-protected, including your first call. We never share your information.

In a crisis right now? Our programs are scheduled outpatient care, not emergency services. If you or someone you know is in immediate danger, call or text 988, the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, or call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

Find out if a program fits
